Deathstroke #14 Total Chaos Part 1

I have no idea why Slade was a part of this or what his story was at the time but Slade's running from the government just as he's forced into this three way tie in between his title Deathstroke the Terminator, the New Titans and Team Titans.

8 pages from a 26 page story.



Left this one large just cause the words are super hard to read otherwise.

A group of hoodlums grab "Starfire's" purse. One kid from the group acts like a bystander and trips the duo/gets tripped over and makes the two think of him as an innocent victim they hurt. They buy him a milkshake. Meanwhile Slade is watching the spectacle.



The group pulls a similar stunt on Slade and grab his bag...full of artillery.





At the same time Lord Chaos is once again going over his evil plan of ensuring his birth.





Redwing like it says tried attacking Donna alone when trying to locate her but failed and got captured. I'd post it but I don't have that issue.

And back at the love shack....





Dun dun dun. Mirage had switched with Starfire and was making out with Dick. Which is one of the reasons Mirage was the worst Team Titan. Yes even compared to Battalion. Oh haven't seen him yet have you? We're getting there....

Mirage!Star's face here scares the hell out of me I'll also say.

Starfire's head looks so tiny.

Particularly on Miragefire's. Looks more normalish on Star's there.

I know Starfire's hair is poofy, but GODDAMN. She's got like a whole herd of sheep up there.

Oh, thank God. I was really concerned when I saw Kory in that outfit - it put into question everything I thought I knew about the world. Is up now down? Is the sky green? Does rock and roll still soothe the soul? Do androids dream of electric sheep?

But it's just Mirage. The universe has righted itself.

I actually really like Miragefire's outfit or how it was drawn in a few places but here.... I agree, absolutely awful.

I don't think it's even so much the style that creeped me out as it is the fact that it isn't made of floss and double sided tape.

Just from the outfit people should have been like, Hey, that's not Starfire. What's going on here?

How sad is it that a female character's outfit actually bothers me if it contains more than a yard of fabric?

Well, Starfire is actually one of the few female characters whose skimpy costume makes perfect sense, considering her background. She basically comes from the Planet of Free Love, with very few of the social and sexual taboos that Earth has - of COURSE she'd be wearing a bit less than your average heroine. She's not trying to titillate, she's an ALIEN - this is just the way they dress back home.

Yeah, if I were going to fix things so 99% of all female characters had costumes that covered them completely, Starfire is one of the ones I'd leave in the 1%.

The other reason (or excuse) her costume is skimpy is for the sun's rays (or male attention).

I don't actually have a list of names, but off the top of my head....Emma Frost. Fire. She-Hulk. Maybe Power Girl and Supergirl. Anyone who operates underwater has a reasonable excuse.

Wonder Woman would not be on the list, and anyone operating in Gotham--bar Poison Ivy--is categorically off it.

I'm not sure I agree regarding Emma Frost - I think her current outfit is just embarrassing (uh, assuming that she's still in some version of the 'bare flesh forming an X' outfit that Morrison introduced; it's been a while since I've paid attention to the X-books). There's 'sexy', and then there's 'going to fall to pieces the next time the wearer breathes deeply', and that costume is in the latter category. It doesn't make me go 'hubba hubba', it makes me want to bark 'for goodness sake, woman, put something on! You're embarrassing yourself!' I do agree that she should always be wearing SOMETHING revealing and sexy, as she's one of those female characters who uses her beauty as another weapon in her arsenal, but I don't see what was wrong with her earlier dominatrix-corset outfit, which fulfilled the same purpose.
Also, I like Wondy's outfit, but I understand why others don't - I think a good answer would be to draw the star-spangled lower part as more of the bike shorts-type thing that it used to be, rather than the more Speedo-ish interpretation that has reigned in recent years - artists such as Matt Wagner have proved that she is equally sexy in either version. As for the rest - no argument.

I'm surprised Gar thinks Starfire's Hoplite armor is sexier than her usual Megan-Fox-at-the-beach wear. Then again, Miragefire's armor does pantomime an explosion at her crotch.

I was wondering about that too. How is a full-coverage metal one-piece swimsuit sexier than Starfire's usual metal-suspenders bikini?

In a later part of the arc she throws the Miragefire costume at Dick saying he should make love to it because he thinks it more sexy and the biggest insult was in the 'Titans' Sell Out' her Action Figure has on the Miragefire costume. I smell a factory recall/collector's item!

Miragefire's plan had one huge gaping flaw: when no one is gawking at her exposed cleavage, they start to notice that her face is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Or the would, if this wasn't the 80s and that mullet wasn't growing itself into Dick's brain.
