"DC is Going to Hell"

It's Darwin Carmichael, a character created by Sophie Goldstein and Jenn Jordan.

Here's the first page of the webcomic:

It pretty much gives you a feel of the comic: regular guy with a depressing job, but has weird creatures, such as stoned angels, always hanging out at his place. Why so serious? Turns out Darwin's karma is so messed up, he's pretty much going to hell.

So in the meantime he's trying to do all the good an average Joe can do. He is helped (and sometimes hampered) by the mystical creatures that hang out at his place, which leads me to introduce my favorite character of the strip, Skittles.

Even if Skittles is about 2000 years old, he still acts like a 12-year-old fan girl (note the "High School Musical" poster in his tent).

However, because Skittles has been around the block for a while, he's had quite a few owners, including Jesus, Joan of Arc, and...

...the Goshdarned Batman. Skittles drew it himself!

Overall the webcomic is very tongue-in-cheek, not my favorite webcomic, but certainly an interesting read. Story arcs can range from random to touching, but never fail to entertain.

Yeah, pretty much. They were awesome sheets. I mean, multicolored dinosaurs? Is there anything better to fall asleep on? No, there isn't.

I...also totally recognize those bedsheets. Sometimes, they even make it onto my bed when I'm not trying to impress the ladies. Also, Skittles' fanart of him and Batman is quite possibly the most amazing thing ever *o*.

I thought the inference was more that Skittles actually HAD been owned by Bats at some point in the past, and this was his idealized recollection of it.

Why idealised? Don't you think Batman really did smile and become less intense with a pet manticore to stroke? :)

It is possible, yes. I was just assuming that, considering that the guy lives happily under a bedsheet covered with happy technicolor dinosaurs and considers a selection of generic rockstar posters to be an 'art collection', it's likely that he idealizes EVERYTHING, even things that don't NEED idealizing. If he met Superman and got a free ride on his back to the Bahamas where they ate ice cream, found pirate treasure and frolicked with mermaids, he would probably add a family of happy puppies living under Superman's cape to the story afterwards, just 'cause that would make it that much niftier.

I was using the "fanart" loosely, but you're right -- "idealized recollection" fits nicely between "fanart" and "historical depiction" ^^. I'd like to believe Bruce smiled like. Petting manticores! Proven to reduce blood pressure better than doggies or kitties!

If you do it CAREFULLY. I'm guessing that Skittles here is an example of the rare, little-seen 'fuzzy manticore', given that he's tiny and doesn't have most of the stuff that a regular manticore is supposed to have - i.e, a scorpion's tail, three rows of teeth, bat wings, stuff like that. You pet one of those manticores, it damn well better be in a good mood.

Yeah, I think the greatest woobie moment I have ever seen was when that demon made Skittles have the nightmare that he was in a graveyard where all his old owners were buried.
