I don't think the White Lanterns had control over who was brought back. Otherwise Zoom, Boomer, and Max wouldn't be there.

Well Captain Boomerang killed Tim Drake's papa while he was fat and bald. He's also got the distinction of being a Rogue and a member the Suicide Squad.

Well yes, he's a villain of the Flash, Batman, and Red Robin. His son is Bart Allen's half-brother. Boomer killed Red Robin's father, which makes him an enemy of the Batman family.

I actually liked the character better that way, he was much more sympathetic when he was a has-been desperate to impress his estranged son.

Still, I can admit there's gonna be story interest in him and Boomer jr. meeting up now that he's a strapping, dedicated lad once more.

Did he really have development and growth, though? Really, before Blackest Night, his only other major moment was in Identity Crisis. Where he was first introduced.

not exactly a major moment but he was a nice part of Supergirl's supporting cast.

He's seen plenty of use since Identity Crisis. He was part of the "Rogue War" storyline in Flash, he was a supporting castmember in SUPERGIRL for a while, he was a member of the Outsiders for a year and a half, which included a guest starring role in CHECKMATE during the "Checkout" crossover, and he's been one of the Suicide Squad since then, notably in the RAISE THE FLAG miniseries. And I'm probably forgetting stuff.

And in none of these stories did he behave like someone who would murder children because he had randomly decided it would resurrect his father. I really liked this character, and Geoff destroyed him in the laziest way possible.
