Meet Sam Lane

So, when Sam Lane returned from the dead he was acting more villainous than usual. I thought it was going to be revealed that something happened that had made him this way, but it seems like they're retconning it so he was always like that.

First, we see him meeting with Luthor.




Meanwhile, Lois tells Clark about her relationship with her father (they're currently estranged).

Lois's mother being dead is also something that's new.

Sam later plays a role in the creation of Metallo, when Corben asks him to let him use Luthor's Metallo armor and Sam says "I wouldn't trust anyone else, son."

Later, Sam gets Superman's attention and has a meeting with him.





And then  Sam siccs Metallo on him and yadda yadda.

I have to say, I'm not real crazy with how they're retconning Sam to make him more in line with how he is now. It'd be more interesting if he was the nicer guy and we saw what made him change into the more villainous person.
