The latest "We Are The X-Men" teaser from Marvel, spotlighting another non-mutant.

The third promo:

Umpteenth attempt to make Blade work in the comics:  go!

In all seriousness, in terms of non-mutant characters who fit with the general theme of the X-Men as people on the fringe of society, none of these guys are bad choices.

Also, this would seem to indicate that Hope isn't going to magically turn into Jean Grey at the end of "Second Coming" (and she's got gigantic guns; Cable would be so proud).

And I see she borrowed some of Cable's smaller, less conspicuous firearms.

Sigh, the X-universe lurches yet again from one low point to another.

Is Hope wearing the Phoenix suit? ... she really is Jean isn't she?

Whatever happen to Blade, I thought he movies wreck him. Remember when he set the standards for vampires before Twilight?

A reference to the old Marvel slogan "Make Mine Marvel" I've never been sure what it is actually supposed to mean but it is catchy and memorable.

Yep. Silver Age Marvel comics were advertised in a trademarked corny, grandiose, over-the-top manner. Personally I thought it was cute.

Okay either Marvel is going to do something completely random with the X-Men or these non mutants are gratuitous guest stars.

I'm glad to see that they're integrating the X-Men with the rest of the 616. This pairing of Jean Grey 2.0 and Blade could actually work.

So, maybe society or someone has decided to stop nitpicking between mutant and meta-human?

It was interesting, back when Stark appealed to Frost as the Civil War was beginning, and how that panned out.

That I could accept and it would be a cool development but why would Blade care?

He'd basically go "Huh? I'm a mutant now. Cool." ~Goes back to stabbing vampires~

It is my hope (ha!) that they keep Hope as her own character and don't turn her into Jean Grey. In this art the artist does seem to have made her more distinct from Jean, she's shorter, a little stockier and her facial features seem different. (I know, almost every character has the artist's 'stock face' all the time, but it seems like an attempt was made here to make her seem distinct.)

Of course the next 20 artists to draw her will draw her as looking identical to every other woman. Same woman, different hair colour. It's like I always rejoice when I see an artist giving a female character a distinctive face and then forever more she goes back to being "traced porn star with the same face and body as every other traced porn star". I actually get depressed!

(and Greg Land isn't the only culprit of that, he's merely the most obvious.)
