More Jonah Hex, as requested by
morganna006.
Jonah Hex rides into the peaceful, civilized town of Paradise Corners, bringing in two fresh corpses to collect bounty on. It turns out he's arrived just in time: his two bounties are former members of Big Jim's raiders, and more of them have ridden into town and are acting up.
After a brisk pursuit through the local saloon and whorehouse...

Jonah leaves the kid to pursue the raiders. Several bloody skirmishes later, Big Jim is all that's left of his gang, and he's not inclined to go quietly.

His typically onery disposition somewhat lightened by the promise of apple dumplings, Hex brings in his latest pile of corpses for reward and makes inquiries as to how one might go about purchasing a house in Paradise Corners. While the locals are glad to have a mean snake like Hex around to clear out the rats, that doesn't mean they want him around on a regular basis -- no sir, there are no houses to be had anywhere in this territory, nope, so sorry -- and so Hex scornfully laughs them off and rides out.

This is a pretty great bit altogether.
