Date: 2010-05-11 05:51 am (UTC)It's fun albeit in a messy, unwieldy sort of way. It sort of suffers from that the early 00s writing-for-trade style pacing but I think it's underacted.
Is it any good?
Date: 2010-05-11 07:05 am (UTC)I own one of the trades, and it's kinda a sloppy mess. The "Shadowy war between two secret organizations" isn't nearly as interesting as it sounds, mostly because it's never really explained who the the organizations are and what it is they're fighting about. And since the book is all about this war, it becomes a big hindrance.
Also, Arana just wasn't that interesting of a main character - she was likable enough, but there wasn't anything about her that really jumped out. She was just "generic teen hero."
