Oracle leads wendy some breadcrumbs to following. Which leads to underneath babs apartment to a basement,babs congrats her on her detective skill and then lock the elevator. So she be safe from whatever her dad planning.




Calculator wants to personally deal with babs for taking away his kids. Also get revenge for his son death.

I might me missing a fact or three, but shouldn't Calculator being more pissed at the Titans for "taking away his kids" than Babs? I mean, it's not like Calculator needs another excuse to go gunning for her.

Calculator talks some about the Titans to corpse!Marvin early in the issue. He seems to feel that kidnapping Kid Eternity and causing Red Devil's death is sufficient "taking them down a peg" as he puts it, for now. "Oracle, like the Titans, needs a lesson in humility, Marvin," is how he puts it IIRC.

Yeah, that's actually a really nice touch on BQM's part. Still not enough to make me forgive him creating a new character roster composed primarily of Generic White Cop #2965 Detective Gage, but an incredibly pleasant shock to see so casually and upfront dropped in there nonetheless.

I know, Gage is about as bland as bland can be; but having said that, I do find it kind of charming that this woman-driven series has such a blatant himbo male sex object in it. I mean, even Jim objectifies him, on Babs' behalf - I kind of wonder if GCPD's HR department went, "Meh, the resume looks OK, and we could really use a little more of the pretty around here..."

I'm just sayin', in a series where you've got a blonde white chick taking an Asian character's spot, under the tutelage of another white chick, who's tutoring yet another white chick... I mean, Detective Seif or Detective Chung or Detective Rishi could have been pure himbo beefcake too. And their occasional spurts of "hey I'm important to the story I get panel time and character development lookitme!" would actually help to marginally defray the wrongness of sidelining Cass for an all-white cast, instead of aggravating it as Gage does.

I couldn't possibly be more in love with the art on this book. The faces have unique features, female bodies are actually mostly within reasonable proportions, and the action moves so nicely it's almost pretty.

And, yeah. Babs is really, really hot.

Babs looks hot, even beautiful. She looks by far the best of the characters.

I've really liked Lee Garbett's work on this book. Babs does look beautiful (and hot too). Wouldn't mind him going on BoP after Benes' run ends.

So... wait. What'd he do? He took over their brains or something? He computerized them? HOW? I mean, people aren't machines; you can't just reprogram them to have glowy eyes and spout binary. Basic mind control, yes, but I call foul on the rest.

He's mind controlling them, at a guess through remote digital media like mobile phones and computers. Since the controlling method would be via computer, I can easily imagine a binary component to it.

OK, I suppose the binary part is not too terribly far-fetched - after all, it's just a series of ones and zeroes, and you can say 'one' and 'zero' over and over again in various combinations without much trouble - but I still call foul on the eyes. People aren't EQUIPPED to have glowing eyes; your eyes don't start glowing just because you're mind is being controlled. The eyes don't make sense unless they themselves have been restructured somehow.

I believe they've been infected by some sort of nanomachines, with the digital media used to trigger the infection into an active phase. The whole frozen-in-carbonite thing is the techno-zombies (that's what they're called in-story...oy) literally vomiting a nanomachine soup onto Barbara.

Ohhhhhhhh, I seeeeee-ee. That makes more sense, then. The whole thing sounds to me like a direct rip-off of what Marvel was doing a few years ago with the Sentinels, except for the fact that these guys, so far, have not gained the ability to fly and blast power from their hands.
