Weird Western Tales #34
May. 12th, 2010 07:36 pmTitle: Weird Western Tales #34 - "Death of a Bounty Hunter" (DC, 1976, 19 pages)
Creators: Michael Fleisher (writer), George Moliterni (art)
Availability: Out of Print
Jonah Hex. A scar-faced, motherless cuss with a cash-box where his soul oughta be. Ugly as sin and twice as deadly. His only companions are death itself and the acrid smell of gunsmoke.

The current series has quite a bit to recommend it, but I admit, I'm enjoying the older takes a lot more right now.

Date: 2010-05-13 08:58 am (UTC)Hex had been having trouble with another bounty hunter coming in, essentially kill-stealing his finds, and getting credit -- worse, getting payment -- for them. So after he tracked down "Dutch" and his crew, he made as if to take the long way back to civilization across a stretch of desert so as not to be followed. Other bounty hunter comes in, jumps Hex, and takes off into baking hot desert with $1000 worth of bounty...and a dozen canteens loaded with sand. Doesn't end pretty for him or anyone with him.
