So...imagine the French Revolution peppered with the world's least competent vampires.






Claire. Our heroine.




Lucien. The mysterious traveler who has won Claire's heart (but generally seems more interested in her neck).




Ginevra. A second mysterious traveler who seems a bit put out with Lucien.

And so...













No such luck. Dead as a doornail. Welcome to the ranks of the cursed undead, Claire!

But there are perks. On the way out, Claire meets a troublesome customer who had once upon a time seen fit to smack her derriere as a way of alerting her to his need for ale.

At what point in the French Revolution is this set? It would be kind of interesting to see vampires mistakenly hunted down and executed as counter-revolutionaries. Or perhaps not mistakenly, vampires as embodiments of the ancien regime would bring an added dimension to the class warfare.

I didn't find a date at the site -- executions appear to be in full swing, and the heroine gets her leg signed by Robespierre.

Well, THIS is amusing. Really, at this point I think the only way left to deal with vampires is either deadly seriously, or mocking the absurdities that have built up around them. This is a pretty good example of the latter.
