Love this cover! I can only reiterate what I've said about her character a thousand times: that to grieve and mourn and feel loss isn't in stark contradiction with an ability to commit sociopathic and horrific acts against those they see as dehumanized.

It's too bad this is part of a book that I don't really want to support. Even Osiris -- the kid who was nearly suicidal after taking the life of a villain in 52, and his heel turn is just... eugh here.

It amazes me how committed Brightest Day is deep, fundamental Fail at all levels and in all areas. They're probably kicking themselves that Civil War beat them to the giant black dude being killed by a malfunctioning Aryanbot and then being buried in chains.

Every single one of those solicitations got a "meh" from me.

Brightest Day bores me already. Especially when the title clashes with last week's genocide and this weeks's matchbox murder where one of the main villains surely getting away with it because "he's very cool and important(!!!)" On the other hand I'm expected to deal with Mr. White-Bread Flash's two-faced judgment when Ollie kills Prometheus. I always argued the heroes shouldn't kill unless the situation is dire but DC killed the fight in me. Why would I care if you bringing back Aquaman and Martian Manhunter when almost every new character is in ruins.(and I was so excited for Arthur coming back) Silver Age isn't everything.

Their let's go back to 1980 when we were wearing short pants attitude is sickening. I can't find anything to defend them anymore. White washing indeed.

Agreed on all of this, though I have to say the JLA/JSA crossover gets a bit of interest from me. Just a bit.

Everything else is so meh. I hope the GL franchise detaches itself from all of this event stuff and that BOP picks up better after the first issue.

Fabrizio Fiorentino has got to be my favorite artist. At least one of them. I don't even care what he's illustrating I'm going to buy it.

And Personally I really think the Generation Lost cover is pretty cool, the art is meh but I just like when they have wanted posters and information and stuff like that I guess...

You know, it always baffles me how anyone at DC can look at that star sapphire cover and think that won't be controversial at all!

Either they're genuinely so incredibly stupid that they honestly believe they're actually addressing the problem with this, or they don't care even a little bit about the message they're sending with the Sapphires and this is a big Take That, like "you want a male Sapphire, fine, try this on for size, you oversensitive shrieking hysterical feminazi harpies, ha!"

I generally try to live by that old "attribute nothing to malice that can be adequately explained by stupidity" adage, but based on prior industry behavior (that one Outsiders preview jumps to mind, or anything Quesada's ever said ever), I tend to think that with comics, fanbaiting is actually the more likely choice.

Not really. "Kink" would be a sexual act that deviates from the norm, something with a touch of the unusual and unexpected that you wouldn't ordinarily think of or that you wouldn't expect most people to do. And as far as comic book sexuality goes, you don't get more mundane than that cover. It's exactly what I would expect most creative teams to do.
