He'll never hear about that. What happens in the Bat books stays in the Bat books. Gotham is like Vegas, in that respect.

Either that or DC's editors just don't bother talking to each other to make sure they aren't allowing something in their book that's going to make something in another book completely nonsensical.

Have the Titans always been about suffering? Good grief.

What's really annoying is seeing what was and what could have been. I was just flipping through Batman Plus Arsenal, and it too had another great Lian moment and.....argh.

And people wonder why the Teen Titans TV series was so well received? It was because it wasn't THIS grimdark stuff. It's not that this isn't well written...it is. But it keeps happening to the Titans. And it's filled with so much facepalm in regards to what happened afterwards that it almost hurts.

And people wonder why the Teen Titans TV series was so well received? It was because it wasn't THIS grimdark stuff.

Interestingly enough, pretty dark stuff happened in the TV Series (especially with Slade involved) and the characters often go to dark places because of that, but the way it was handled wasn't as depressing as the stuff we get in the comics and they made due without killing the characters left and right.

I really never understood why they feel the need to go all grimdark in a teen series. Teens want action, romance and drama. Slice of live inbetween the superhero action. Not death and destruction every 5 issues.

At this point, tradition?

I'm with you. I think it started because the first time characters died it was shocking, then they really got stuck in a rut and that helped it drop from the premier book it was at one point, but the legacy lives on.

I think that's why people liked YJ so much. Grimdark stuff did happen, like really grimdark stuff but they didn't angst about it, and they had a lot of fun and stuff. I don't think the Teen Titans writers really understand how to make that balance for some reason.

We get it, these peoples lives pretty much suck do you have to rub it in our faces every book?

If they keep killing people in the Teen Titans or that have been Titans, with the new thing about no resurrections half the dc universe is going to be dead...

Come to think of it, Marvel's New X-men had a lot of grim stuff, but at least they weren't exactly on the team *voluntarily* when it happened post-M-day. They were there because they would be targeted and they'd do what they'd have to to stay alive and protect their own. It's really hard to buy the Titans as an all volunteer force when no-one enjoys it and everyone dies.

I know, you'd think someone was forcing them to be there. If they hated it, and everyone they loved died you'd think they'd leave no matter how much they wanted to help people.

I would say it's sort of like... a group support system for them. And maybe it was back in the 80's, but NOW they don't even like eachother so that isn't even a good explanation.

It's not like there's not solo work or other teams. Every one of them could hero elsewhere and I think spends a significant amount of time heroing on their own.

They seem to be heroing together out of habit. I mean, a few of them it's the only place where they have friends, but not for most.

Ha,ha,ha,ha! You don't know much, do you, Jen?

"Dead? Donna's not really dead, Daddy. She'll come back like Uncle Ollie did, you'll see.

You're right, Lian. Donna did come back just like "Uncle Ollie". You on the other being just a kid with no powers and the daughter of a former sidekick to a second-tier hero who was was horrifically killed off in a cheat move in critically lambasted story so your Daddy can became a one-armed Punisher clone- odds are YOU aren't coming back. And that sums up just about everything wrong with DC...

"When are the people I love going to stop dying?"

Ask Dan Didio and Geoff Johns, Gar. They're the ones who seem to get off on killing all your friends.

Sorry not ready yet, I'm one of those writer who likes to practice and proof read but here's the rundown on it, Basically current Teen Titans end up in the future except instead of being well dark and evil it's actually a lot better.
*The Young Justice Team Consist of Damien Wayne(Robin),Lian Harper(Red Arrow 2), Milargo Reyes(Green Lantern), Chris Kent(Superboy) and King and Queen(Empresses Parents) and Miss Mercury(Iris West)

The whole thing is pretty much about how much Young Justice don't want to tell the TT about how much the Teen Titans is considered now by many to be a failure that should have folded even before the curse was made known because of the unusual high death toll out of respect for their mentors and the fact that they are the last incarnation of Titans before they fold into Young Justice 2.0. That's the basic outline of it, and one day I may post it but now I rather focus on becoming a better writer then let a cool idea like this be in a badly written fan fic.

Okay fine Superboy is now Superman who has just returned from a year long trip in space were he saved the universe from the empire of Mongul is back but is pretty much a knight in sour armor who doesn't know if he should be leader,Blue Beetle(Jaime of course) pretty much picked up the slack as the guardian of Metropolis while Kon was gone but the problem is he's becoming more high profile, and he may want to start merchandising with the help of Booster Gold so he can pay off college fees and well as pay for Milargo's College. He's on the fence about it. Cassie is having a hard time as Wonder Woman mostly due the face that she's taken up all of Wonder Woman's duties, including ambassador and some of the Amazon's feel she's a weak replacement for her plus she has to work off the stigma of her TT work(The reason being she was leader for a good while and some people put the blame on her along with others). Secret has taken a job as a new Oracle while Barbara become commissioner, Ryan Choi is considered one of the old guard now act's a basically the mentor. Also Cissie King is back as Arrowette, Tim also is one Now the Scarlet Scarab basically a red version of Ted Kord's Blue beetle and JL Batman, Jaime and him have a bit of a fun rivalry. These guys are also part of a Unlimited type team but if I went into all of the heroes my finger would hurt.

The trouble is the longer she remains dead, the more new writers come in who haven't ever written or been fond of the character, and so don't feel any particular need to ask editorial if they could please bring her back.

in before: but loosing a child is a different thing...!!!!!

yes, of course, but the outlook on death and life, the sensibility he shows here, is not part of the characterization he got in RoA, amount of suffering notwithstanding, and this piles up with the library of complaints I have in store about the demolition of Roy's character.
