It's a frequent go-to plot for sci-fi novels but very hard to pull off well.

That said, Marvel's space stuff has been by far their best material for the past year+. I was so glad when Nova stopped by Earth, told Tony to get stuffed, and went back to space.

And even wraith was a cool concept, just poorly implemented and about 2 or three power levels too low for what they were asking of him. I'm getting pretty stoked for this event, Thanos back, shit just got real.

The scary thing about Thanos is that he can be so...complicated. Or he may have a fairly simple goal, but a labyrinthine plan to realize it. I somewhat disagree with Moondragon in that it's hard to guess his motives - it's easy. But how he plays the game is very...interesting.
