Four scans from the second issue of Generation Lost, as things get worse for our heroes.

In the last issue, Max managed to wipe any information about himself from the brains of everyone. (And it seems like we're talking everyone everywhere, not just on earth.) This issue reveals that his mind control also extends to images when the group shows Superman a picture of Diana snapping Max's neck that he sees as her holding a sword.

Undeterred, they find more superheroes to try to convince.

Say it with me guys/girls: "oh my fuuuuck."

The "Ice-attacking-Guy" thing isn't just a rumor. Guy really believes that she tried to kill him and, as an extention, so does the whole Green Lantern corps. The reason why? Well, you probably guessed it.

They theorize that the reason he hasn't done anything to Booster's reputation is because it already sucks. They set out to investigate some more and end up running into an old friend (sorta).

I'm surprisingly satisfied at how Max covered incidents that we'd most likely ask about.. like the O.M.A.C. Project and even the incident involving Diana snapping Max's neck. As much as I don't like Max, gotta tip my hat to him for this.

I find it really weird that in all his attempts to get Dick to remember Max Lord Booster didn't mention that Diana snapped his neck on TV.

Has Booster always had a star on his back or am I just really distracted by his butt unobservant?

I do suppose that this issue answered my two biggest questions a.) How does the mindwipe thing work? and b.) why does Guy think it's cool to just run off into space instead of hanging around with the JLI again?

Ah, another week gone by, another issue with DC's official spanking boy, Booster Gold!

Seriously, when was the last time something good happened to him?

He seems cool in Return of Bruce Wayne.

Besides this is a far better position Booster has been in years. He has his own series, hes part of a bi-weekly, he is involved in the huge return of Batman. Editorial rightly loves him, but you have to admit he is seen as a joke in-continuity by most.

Does Old Booster count? That wasn't too long ago, it just seems that way because DC is somehow up to 4-5 issues with Booster a month. It's the Golden Age of Booster (pun fully intended.)

(If not that, then probably the last time Booster got to be happy was when he did his Fonzie impersonation.)

Am i the only one who really likes where this is going? Honestly it is the smartest idea I've seen a villain perform. Hell the thing he did to Booster, the whole Ted Kord committing Suicide, that right there I think is calling for a murder death squad.

Further I think the end of Brightest day will see a return of Kord, Garth, and Lian so I have a feeling that will tie into what is going on.

The thing is, it shouldn't have worked. We've been explicitly shown that Diana is immune to his powers in the past, with no indication that she ever lost that power.

So, uh, has Wonder Woman been accounted for, yet?
Normally, I'd not bring it up, since easy answers aren't always narratively appropriate, but there's that big ol' page of Our Heroes looking through the supercommunity for help. Diana doesn't strike me as the kind of resource someone would forget when trying to convince people that your group knows something is true.

That Max is a pretty important character in Diana's recentish history makes it even stranger.

Also, unless the capes are programmed to respond like this, I think it's pretty strange that they would. Mind control is common in their business, after all.

One thing about Max Lord's (previous) death is I don't know how Diana was cleared originally. Because they didn't want the jury or the general public to know that Max had Superman under his control. How was that resolved? Was it in MANHUNTER or somewhere else?

Also, since Bruce Wayne was doing the Billy Pilgrim Shuffle when Max did his worldwide mindwipe, perhaps when he returns he will remember everything. It's also be assumed that Max and everyone else resurrected in BLACKEST NIGHT #8 was resurrected for a specific purpose that we'll learn in BRIGHTEST DAY... maybe.

Hmm, so when Bruce finally does come back, he'll totally blow Max's plan out of the water, because he wasn't in the timeline when the mindwipe happened. I wonder if that's part of the overall plan.

I know it won't be... but I'm desperately hoping that he hasn't brainwashed the whole world, that he's just gotten in the heads of the four of them for some revenge. It would open up a bunch of new plot holes, but at least they'd be much smaller ones than we have currently

Ted Kord committed suicide.

Oh fuck no. I was hoping for some kind of redemption somehow for Maxwell Lord, some kind of return to sleazy over-successful used car dealer Max from the 80s and Can't Believe It's The Justice League. But now?

That?

Die Max. Die forever. Die painful. Die die die.
