So he ties Cheshire up, they make out, begin to bang, he can't get it up. He gets angry and has drug trips, then he beats up a bunch of people in an alley with a dead cat and stabs their arms, then Dick fights him and beats him, then Dick and Dinah talk about what to do with him while a gorey and bloody Lian comes to Roy in a hallucination.

Feh. I'm not going to claim this comic is good, but it could have been much, much, much worse.

It can always be worse. Countdown could have been worse.

I feel ... really bad for Roy. And JT Krul. But mostly Roy.

To be fair, Ultimatum probably couldn't have been much worse.

In a fit of rage, JJJ blames everything on Spiderman and beats his skull in with a crowbar in a shades-of-Death-in-the-Family 2-page spread. Spiderman dead, no Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man ongoing, Jessica joins the Ultimates, Kitty goes supervillain, Gwen and MJ wind up in an emotionally-detached sexual relationship, Bobby and Johnny still wind up getting taken in by Aunt May but without Peter's influence they fairly quickly break their cover and get themselves and Aunt May arrested.

I could go worse, but even starting to think about it makes me sad.

Well, yes, pretty much anything can be worse. Countdown could have been worse. Probably.

This isn't really anywhere close to Countdown bad. For example, Roy isn't sleeping with something outside his species. And Roy hasn't randomly destroyed a planet. Heck, Roy having consistent characterization throughout this series (as unpleasant as that characterization may be) makes this above Countdown.
