So he ties Cheshire up, they make out, begin to bang, he can't get it up. He gets angry and has drug trips, then he beats up a bunch of people in an alley with a dead cat and stabs their arms, then Dick fights him and beats him, then Dick and Dinah talk about what to do with him while a gorey and bloody Lian comes to Roy in a hallucination.

Now see, when I mentioned that the fight ended in dirty, kinky angst sex, I was worried that I was remembering things incorrectly from when I skimmed through the issue, and that I was getting a bunch of people worked up over nothing. So yeah, looks like I was wrong, and they didn't actually have successful dirty kinky angst sex.

Also, what is up with Jade's face there? It never changes with her dialogue, like she should have maybe an understanding face in panel 2 but she looks like she just smelled a fart.

A friend of mine showed me a summary and review of the issue, which you can find here here on deviant art and I'm gonna post here what I said to her... here goes.

"I will disagree in that I don't think it's merely about Roy and to call him selfish is kinda unfair. All I see is a man acting out because he just lost his daughter and wasn't even there to at least try to save her. He was bed ridden the whole time so the people he trusted in her care failed in. So for the most part I give Roy a free pass on a lot of his behavior and waiting for it to pass.

Other than that, I do agree..everyone is just..god..

Even Dinah..she should be doing more. They're not helping. At all. They act as if Roy should just.. be over it. Clearly by himself, it won't work but they..just the fuck are they doing?

I don't want Punisher-Roy. I want THE Roy Harper. Fun loving, fall from grace only to rise, father figure who'd give the world for his daughter ROY HARPER!

What I loved about Roy was he's on the list of those who can easily be a poster child of an imperfect hero. He fell once already. It took years for him to redeem that and earn respect and he's done it. He stepped up when he found out he had a daughter and in fact he fights solely for the reason that she won't have to when she's older. And more and more he's risen, beating the odds, having a family that cares for him, proving time and again that he's no longer the man who didn't take shit seriously and only interested in fucking, though he still remained a ladies man. He's proven that he can hang with the best, and hell social wise, he's shown his love for family, friends, and the women. When he gets serious with someone, he's all fucking in. Yes he's screwed up before when it came to Donna but still. When it comes to being serioues, he's made more effort than what is usually said about Ollie (yes Ollie did pop the question to Dinah but let's face it, Fall of GA shitted on that marriage). He's a character whose grown and grown, he earned his spot. His respect, and most of all the love of his daughter.

This is not a rise..it's a damn funeral...

You know what, I realize I'm being partially hypocritical. Because I keep saying how DC should just use my idea and mine has Roy becoming an anti-hero/villain too, as well as him violently going against his friends and family. Mine doesn't have him wigging on drugs though and has a beginning, middle, and end as well as redemption and on how to fix it.

So just what the fuck is DC doing? Are they painting a similar map? A hero's journey at the bottom only for eventual redemption that will also fix the big mess created? Is there a plan? Or do they just yet again plan to milk this for as long as they can, regardless of what we say and how we feel? Until eventually, years fucking later, we get Roy back and maybe Lian? Just..the fuck are they trying to do? Why Roy? Why keep killing off children, not just children but children who particularly belong to Titans? Just. Why?

We already have DC's answer to the Punisher. He's called Vigilante. Let's not also forget Azrael.

Hell Ollie had more of a rise. At least he realized the path he's going on to and though one by one he lost everyone and everything he cares about, he's mature enough to say that they can't come where he's going and he's gonna continue fighting for his city, even if his city doesn't want him.

What about Roy? Lost his daughter. Lost his shot at vengeance. Family and friends acting like fuckin morons. The one person whose been there all his life being icy. Being treating like a criminal. People giving up on him already. Never mind that they act like he's not allowed to grieve or express anger over something no parent wishes to experience. All for him to become some drugged up anti hero or villain.

One more issue to go..but considering the solicits for it and Titans 26...should I even bother? Or should I read it and hope there's at least a hint, at least a HINT, of some sort of good thing coming his way?

This is a hot mess..this is why I think this No Ressurection policy is bull and a cop out. Yes I don't like people being resurrected all the time. Hell I'm still more "meh" about Barry and still prefer he remains dead (that's right I said it). But the policy is bullshit when they just up and decide to go on a slaughterfest or use it as an excuse to keep Lian dead. No, she should be an exception. Her and Roy weren't in Blackest Night for one. So for this policy to also count towards Cry for Justice, as childish as this sounds..it's not fucking fair."

This is my stance on it. I'm sticking to it. This isn't a Death of a Hero. It's a death of characterization and true advancement and I don't care what anyone says, this needs to be reversed. Constantly..CONSTANTLY killing off Titan children, hell children of any hero..it's a disturbing trend. This is coming from someone whose seen the movie Battle Royale and the sequel. We don't need another Punisher, let alone actually want one. And I keep thinking Marvel dropped the ball with the One More Day shit. DC you are quickly catching up to Marvel in terms of stupid decisions. Hell I rather read One More Day than have to deal with the death of Lian.. speaking of..stop..just..fucking stop. Stop showing images of her dying and beaten...stop. Stop it fucking now!

Here's another idea. Throw out the No Resurrection policy. When you can start telling stories that doesn't involve shock value or killing popular characters just for the sure hell of it, and can actually give a good reason why you killed said character, then put it back in. Otherwise, throw it out and at least give said characters a fighting chance and not toss them away like trash.
