How soon before they bring up the "you never told him?" (whatever it was that WW was alluding to) that Mera was hiding from the BN: WW mini. You just know that sequence wasn't an accident or just Rucka's whimsy.

I know that most of the BN tie-ins had some editorial input, but it wouldn't be the first time a side mention got dropped after the writer who wrote it was gone.

What am I saying? It's potential for angst and disharmony, of course it'll come back.

Oh, dammit. Now I've got a plot seed for some sort of metaphysical "closure" or something regarding this concept: Arthur will continue summoning dead sea animals until he comes to turns (ETA: terms) terms with being resurrected, and Arthur, Jr. not.

The racism is elsewhere in the issue when they arbitrarily kill off another non-white character. (in this case, Jason Rusch's mother)

How are they fucking with Aquaman and Mera here? From what I've read of the character, this is probably the most blissful period they've had as a couple since they were introduced.
