I've done some snooping, and I managed to find what looks like the complete checklist to the Blackest Night event.  Now there's somke pretty big spoilers, so for an extra layer of precaution I didn't post it here, but I posted it on my LiveJournal page under a cut there.  I'll include a link to that page, and three pages from one of the side-stories of Spidey #600 under this cut.

Mind rape?

While they didn't create the term, TV Tropes defines "Mind Rape" as when "a character is attacked by a villain in the most painful non-physical way possible. Their mind and soul are assaulted with painful, horrifying visions and memories, and broken until they're powerless and numb, but not dead, although afterwards they may wish they were. Nothing sexual occurs, but everything else is there to resemble a rape - violation, helplessness, and the poisoning of what could otherwise be a source of joy."

However I've seen a lot of people throw the term around whenever a character gets their mind read without their permission, as if it's just as bad (or almost as bad) as the act of sexual assault itself.

Last night kijikun informed me that David Petersen is at SDCC. I need to start going to cons. D: Petersen is the genius responsible for Mouse Guard. As some of you might remember, I'm freaking crazy about this series. Kij was kind enough to offer to send me a sketchbook and some pins. *twirl* For those of you out of the know, the official site actually has a good introduction to the series, including character profiles and original pages for sale.

The Losers cast by Jock

A few years ago Vertigo published this awesome comic book called The Losers, which was about a top CIA special ops team who were betrayed by their superiors and now were trying to get payback, clear their names and protect America. What was so awesome about the book is that although the premise and in fact many of the situations in the book at first glance seemed a bit cliche, but the way they were resolved and handled was at the same time completely awesome, innovative and surprising as hell. Seriously, I can't recommend the book enough and actually turns out, thanks to AICN about this, that you can read the first issue free online, http://www.dccomics.com/media/excerpts/1687_1.pdf.
