Belladone volume 1 - Marie
Feb. 15th, 2010 09:35 amSo long as we've been bringing the Franco-Belgian rock lately, I thought I'd contribute another of my favourites, Pierre Alary's Belladonne.
Alary himself is one of my favourites. A former animator at Disney France, he worked under the great Glen Keane on Tarzan before striking out on his own to create this wonder. Since then, he's released two more volumes of Belladone, started a series of Sinbad books, and has lately been posting lineart for his adaption of Mellville's Moby Dick. If you wanna get a look at some of his sketches and lineart, his blog's over here. It's mostly Sinbad and Moby work, but if you go back in the archives there's some great Belladone stuff too.
( Possibly NSFW for brief nudity and blood )

1602!Hulk has a good end, of sorts.
Feb. 15th, 2010 05:37 pmIt's a better one, at any rate, then being burned at the stake by King James.
Basically, pretty much exactly what you'd expect happened at the end of New World; this picks up a bit later, in Hulk: Broken Worlds #2.
Time's passed since then, and David Banner's relocated to China to find inner peace with some monks and all that jazz.
( Then, one day, armed men show up looking for something.. )

Instead of explaining why I'm posting scans of DC Showcase #59 (1965), I'll let the teaser pic speak for itself...

... yep. More music, a weird rock band, 'hip language' and some things that just don't work that way behind the cut.
( Meet the coolest and grooviest group )
