Secrets of Spiderman

sherkahnOk, so the group seems to be quieting down as the summer closes. I thought I should post this as a reminder of gentler, simpler times, when the summer mornings were spent playing with friends and the eagerness to get a drive down to the local news stand to see the latest in the funny papers.

Let's take a trip down memory lane as comic book SCIENCE! is explained to us by the old masters, Stan and Steve.
*Added bonus: Minute 1:04... how Spidey's powers SHOULD work if Pete had biologically adapted as a spider.

Batman's new costume...
Aug. 10th, 2010 09:16 amdarkknightjrkI guess after a guy's traveled through time trying to remember who he is, and is planning and sanctioning Bat-approved vigilantes all across the world, he feels like a change in wardrobe is in order...
( Interview with Morrison, and concept art/first cover of TDK by David Finch. )Which puts them immediately above JMS and a certain other member of the Trinity's costume change, I suppose.
Overall, I can dig it--it actually reminds me a lot of the Arkham Asylum costume (which makes sense, because on another interview Morrison mentions that he really enjoyed that game and the idea of the player "becoming" Batman like they do in games is something he wants to see if he can pull off in the comic), adding the yellow oval and removing the trunks. I think it works well--what say the rest of you guys?

Batman: The Road Home teaser art

As ever, a six page story is a nightmare to trim and still leave interesting, but I can thoroughly recommend this story, it's reprinted in "The Greatest Batman Stories ever Told"
Millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne has taken three "ghetto hardened kids" on a camping trip so they can get their first experience in the wide open, smog-free, star bedappled sky, spaces, and local wildlife. )Okay, get your minds out of the gutter RIGHT NOW! This is NOT going to be one of those posts.. it's a nice, fun story, and we'll have NO lowering of the tone, RIGHT?)
As the kids and Mr Wayne sit round the campfire, one of them is startled by the hooting of an owl, something he's never heard before. He is mocked by his friends.
