2/3 of one page, and one specific panel. If I'm hitting a limit here, lemme know, since this book was 22 pages.

IGN has the question we are all dying to know. Key word here is dying.

There's something you don't see every day. )

I was revisiting Memory Lane today, with finding the first x-men graphic novel I'd ever read.

See, I'd been totally into the cartoon and told my dad I wanted to read the comics. I was say, ten or nine. And he and my mother, both fans from when they were kids, were totally for this. So they went and got me the first graphic novel they found.

It was Inferno.

The first two pages set the tone for the comic, I think. If only it could have warned me for the giant hair and the fact I had no idea who anyone who wasn't Storm, Wolverine, and Rogue were.

When you're ten, this is terrifying )

Courtesy of artist extraordinary Katie Cook...

I've featured her card work before, and I've been meaning to post a link to her latest webcomic for a while, but the most recent issue finally prompted me to do something about it...

Who is the mysterious monster called - Gronk? )

And in terms of utter cute, over on Facebook, Katie's been posting some sketches for an idea she suddenly came up with... What if the Marvel Universe were populated by cats instead of humans...

Serisouly, this much cute is possibly illegal )

It's a bit of a hodge-podge of a book, with a mishmash of artists, art styles, lead characters and stories, but The Book of the Iron Fist is worth a buy. Why? Because it has the tale of Wu Ao Shi, the Pirate Queen of Pinghai Bay (last seen in the Iron Man Annual).

Now, regular readers will know that Wu Ao Shi, the Pirate Queen of Pinghai Bay is one of my favourite characters. There's two reasons for this. a) Fraction/Brubaker tells her story really well and b) she's fucking ace. She's a female Iron Fist, but she's hard as fuck and yes, her fist has been plunged into the chest of Shou-Lao the Undying to make it Like Unto a Thing of Iron.

For background, Wu Ao Shi was saved from a beating by Lei Kung the Thunderer of K'un L'un and trained, but harshly. taught that life did not care if she thrived or starved, Wu Ao Shi met a fisherman who gave her fish. It was the first time that she was given anything. He later proposed to her using two silver rings that he found in a fish. She trains more, becomes the Iron Fist and their paths diverge for they are too different people.

Our story picks up just after she has taken on the mantle of the Iron Fist )
