Following the first of these stories, I thought I'd go straight to the "Son of the Joker" story, but a bit of research and ferreting through back issues led me to realise that there were more of these stories than I'd thought, and in the spirit of getting things in the right order, this is from Batman 135

Oh, the endless toil of banquets and honours... )

And we come at last to STEEL 52, the final issue of the series. While I'm not certain, that has to make it DC's longest running title starring a person of color, right?

This issue is crammed to the bursting point, as the creative team rushes to tie up as many dangling plots as they can. They had very little advanced warning of the cancelation.

Tomorrow as many may have heard shall be the re-lease of Fantastic Four #587, featuring a Fantastic Four member dying, with speculation going for virtually each member.

In 2006 however the concept was kinda toyed around with in a one-shot Fantastic Four: A Death in the Family in which a member died, sorta. I decided this'd be a nice story to post too since I've been a fan of the Human Torch ever since I saw him as a kid.

The story was 23 pages and I'll be posting 7.5 pages

After Solve Everything and the Prime Elements arcs, Dale Eaglesham left Fantastic Four, passing Steve Epting as he moved on to some Captain America stuff. Now, Eaglesham's work on Fantastic Four was amazing. It was reminiscent of the Jack Kirby stuff in terms of figure work and the over-the-top style.

Wouldn't it be great if Eaglesham could draw a retro Fantastic Four book? It could be like Iron Man Legacy or Batman Confidential, but for Fantastic Four. I would buy loads of them.

But, Eaglesham sort of has drawn a retro Fantastic Four book, thanks to two staples of the Marvel Universe - Secret Origins ) and What If  )
