In honour of Dwayne McDuffie: Firestorm

When Dwayne McDuffie took over writing duties for the Jason Rusch Firestorm series he already knew the title was heading for cancellation. He only got to write three issues but it still some of the best writing and some of the best fight scenes that any of the Firestorms have ever gotten.

Here's three pages from issue #33. )

A little something funny

OK, so after all that Three Caballeros stuff, I'm kind of exhausted with long posts for the moment. So, until I'm ready to launch back into the fray again, here's something I found that I'm AMAZED nobody's posted so far...

The Final Moments of Barry Allen: Revisited

Barry Allen, the Flash, is widely held to have had the best ever death for a comic character. He died saving the universe in Crisis on Infinite Earths and afterward became a legendary figure in the DC Universe. His death was revisited a number of times by DC writers over the years before he was finally brought back to life.

I'd like to share a couple of these stories, showing Barry's last moments from his point of view.

Runaway and the Punisher: with tips on ways to prevent sexual abuse.

Hey Scans Daily! I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. This has been something I have wanted to post for a long time, and since this week you don't need an invite code to join Dreamwidth, I figured I would just go ahead and make an account.

Anyways... when the solicitation came out for Runaways vol. 2, #26 when Joss Whedon was writing the book, a lot of people commented on the suggestive way the Punisher was standing behind Molly. This immediately made me think of the add from the 80's for a Spider-man/Power Pack PSA comic about sexual abuse.

Your body belongs to you! )

So... I just had to make this:

And remember, it's not your fault! )

I also wend looking though old posts and found this: http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/1122058.html

Do you think they were trying to draw similarities between the Runaways and Power Pack? I mean from that old post and Joss Whedon's first story arc alone, we have the Punisher and Kingpin. Not to mention both groups connection to Cloak and Dagger.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this.

Sad and sad again.

Well, I've kinda been down and out since learning that Dwayne McDuffie died.

I'm on the road to animating, and this guy put me on track.

A tribute? Yes, a tribute.  )

The History of Renee Montoya Part 10: Final Crisis

"Wait, WHAT!?" Part 10.

Yes, after pretty much a year away, I return! I skipped Parts 5-9. I'll get around to them eventually, I swear! It's really hard to cut down on stories that are pretty much ONLY about Renee, so I'll need help doing Half A Life, Corrigan, Crime Bible, and Revelations. I have 52 ready, but I'm not sure if I can post so much of one character's story (because by keeping in the 7 or less rule, I can post pretty much all of Renee's 52 story.)

Renee in Final Crisis! It's not what you think... )
Anyways, on another related note, this weekend, I have $30 Borders Gift card and I'm going to one of the closing stores. I'm in the mood for some really good comics, straight up classics. So, any suggestions as to what I should get!?
