Moon Knight #1

Bendis' new pet project, Moon Knight, launched this week. I don't have much experience with the character, knowing him a little bit from Secret Avengers but mostly from Bendis' work with the Ultimate version in Ultimate Spider-Man.

In the Ultimate universe, Bendis treats his multiple personality disorder a little like the killer in the movie Identity, where there's a dominant personality, but inside his mind all the personalities mingle and argue(though in the movie they seemed to be unaware they were personalities of the same person and were being manipulated into killing each other to condense down to a single personality - this is not the case with Ultimate Moon Knight.

616 Moon Knight seems to be more schizophrenic, but in a more serious way than Deadpool's dual interior monologue. How this comes into play has to do with the twist so I won't explain.

As you may have gathered over my time on Scans_daily, I have something of a penchant for collecting commissioned art. It's great fun and when you get it in person you can chat with the artist and end up with some good memories as well as a nice piece of art.

Even when you're dealing with folks via e-mail (which happens a lot with me as I'm stuck in the UK with fewer convention oportunities and fewer big name artists being available when you do (with some exceptions), it's usually a delightful experience, and I think those of us who partake in such experiences would recommend it for others...

However, there's always some bugger making it harder for the rest of us...
