thanekosTransformers: Heart of Darkness, a four-issue mini chronicling IDW!Galvatron's life and times following his All Hail Megatron revival, ended this week to a resounding "meh".
A lot of its readers went into it expecting another Last Stand of the Wreckers, I guess; how couldn't they, when it starred self-proclaimed catalysts of chaos and was written by DnA?
Instead they got a Galvatron with a curiously verbose morose inner monologue, another all-devouring threat to Cybertron, and an all-too-brief Arcee and Hardhead as the chaos bringers' would-be destroyers.
It's no wonder then that it's been consigned a disappointing tie-in to IDW's upcoming TF stories; certainly, HoD #1-2 sound more impressive summarized than actually read.
( How they look, though, isn't as bad in retrospect. )

Ultimate Kingpin: Part 1

After the 'Ultimate Venom' posts I did last month or so, I figured I'd do a series of posts on the Kingpin from Ultimate Spider-Man. IMO, the Kingpin is one of Bendis's best characters both in and outside of Ultimate. Bendis had a background writing noir/crime comics prior to coming to Marvel, so its not surprising that the first major villain in the series after the Goblin would be Wilson Fisk.

WARNINGS FOR implied rape, abuse and general mistreatment of children; adults being dismissive about complains of the previous; misogynist language; and violence.
