A Justice League on Earth-Prime
Aug. 1st, 2011 02:34 pm
Here's four pages from this week's Retro-Active: Justice League of America issue, a new story written to be like a lost tale from the 1970s. It's written by Cary Bates, the original creator of Earth-Prime, now revisiting that setting for a new tale.

A crossover of Epic Proportions....
Aug. 1st, 2011 04:50 pmIt seems there's one overlooked announcement at Comic Con. IDW the current comic franchise holder for seminal rock band KISS, is arranging a big return to comics for the band. And for the first time they are arranging a crossover with another well established comic franchise...
( But will everyone in the band add their blood into the ink? )

New webcomic
Aug. 1st, 2011 07:05 pmThought the community might get a kick out of this.
Assemble is a little webcomic by Deviant user Hannah-mation. A friend of mine discovered it today and I have read them and it is gold.
There's 13 strips so far and she promises more. This one is my favorite. It actually made me giggle outloud at work. This one is great too.
( For legality, a variant cover showing that Thor learned about something else too )

Arrow Kids Day
Aug. 1st, 2011 07:15 pmOkay, following up my previous "fan outcry for the Connor, Lian and Mia" post, I'm thinking it's time we all held an Arrow Kids day. The release date of the new Green Arrow issue seems like a good one to me, though I worry it's a bit soon.
So. What do you all say, then? 9/07/11 to demand our favorite Arrows back? I'm thinking just generally making some noise at DC will work- tweeting Krul (@JTKRul) and the general DC accounts (@DC_Nation, @DCComics), writing to DC, etc. will work. Some type of "I love _____ because ____" thing might work, too, both in the DC letters and just general signal boosting, though Twitter's char limit might be a bit of a pain.
Who's with me?
( Legality behind the cut... )

Okay, we've got 3 issues to go through today, so let's get moving!
( 3 covers, one ad, and 17 pages out of 52 after the cut )
Aaron "The Mad Whitaker" Bourque; these issues were so short! 1/3 limit, you're killing me, sheesh.

As some of you folks know, Peter Parker was killed off (the Ultimate Comics version, that is) after fighting one last battle with the Green Goblin in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #160, the final part of "The Death of Spider-Man":( Major, MAJOR Spoilers )
