With all the fail going 'round at DC lately, the last thing I needed this week was Gail Simone killing gays (even if he pulled the trigger himself). I don't even know anymore.

This shit better be a fake-out because I'm out of patience for Brightest Day and DC in general. I'm gonna go drown my sorrows in Pet Avengers. :(

It's still played like she's fallen so far behind that anyone can give her system a run for its money. We've had this Oracle story way too many times in the past few years and it's getting old. Babs is supposed to be the best at what she does, not near the cutting edge, but the cutting edge itself. When every story pits her against someone who provides a critical threat to her and her network as if they were equal to it, it starts to paint her as incompetent and careless, which is just. not. Babs!

i miss the Dixon days when there'd be multiple subplots of people trying to pull one over on Babs only to have them find out she was several steps ahead of them the whole time and just waiting to play her hand

And I agree about Babs. But...again, I don't know how to say this, this isn't her
tech. She comes out and SAYS it looks like they're letting the bat-cave get a little
obsolete.

But she IS doing something about it. And you'll see it in issue six, promise.
And Dixon wrote a great Birds of Prey, no argument there.

That might be a clueless question because I didn't read the issue, but why is the super computer tech person is working out of someone else's office that they took everything important out of due to a security breach? Shouldn't Babs own her own computer?

That is something that was handed to me, to be honest. My job isn't to write the stories that I have nothing to do with, it's to make sense of them as best I can in my own mind.

So we came out and acknowledged that this is a problem with the Batcave with Bruce gone,
and Oracle is working her way out of it, and in a very cool way. But first she has to avoid
the Birds all being killed. ;)

Excellent! I know you didn't put her in there, but it did seem like a thing that would be even more glaring in BoP. But yeah, probably should wait until they're not all being killed.

To be fair, I DID try to get it in the first issue but the editor (correctly) pointed out that the issue was terribly full already.

They even allowed us a few extra pages without additional cost, first time they've ever let that happen in a DC comic I've worked on!
