You always remember the ones that first get you out of comics. I don't think I picked up a Marvel book for four years, thanks to that guy. He was pretty much the proto-Austen and so, of course, he got to put his grubby paws all over my favorites -- Excalibur, Alpha Flight, and New Mutants.

Raab drove me off comics for a while too, but actually he wasn't the only one, juyst the worst of the lot. I dropped Excalibur before it ended, while my other favorites, the FF, had been killed off and mangled into Heroes Reborn; I stuck only with Thunderbolts for a while, then stopped reading comics altogether except for a few now and then.

Damn, I hadn't realized how deeply Raab's stuff had affected me. -_- I wonder (with dread) what became of him?
