" I find you, Vader. I kill you filthy. "
Jun. 19th, 2010 10:41 pmHiromoto Sinichi's Perfect Evil, part of Tokyopop's Star Wars manga dealie (basically Tales, but first published in Japan and only as two one-shot anthologies,) was one of those stories that concerned Vader taking on some secret apprentice.
This one, a boy named Tao (whose origins are vaguely Galen Marek-esque,) was soon discovered by the Emperor, who ordered his death. Vader complied with a grievous lightsaber stroke..
..and then took him back to his home planet of Shumari, to drop the body off or something because just go with it.
But then suddenly, out of nowhere..!

..a Tusken Raider. Well, that is certainly a surprising twist!

..fucker's got a bit of a swing with that stick, hasn't he?
And a hell of a reason, too:

vengeance: increases your lingustic and deductive reasoning abilities!

Lightsabers and Force sensitivity or projected laser blades and rage? You decide.
At any rate, the angry Tusken's tried so hard, he's come so far, but in the end:

yup, Tao's somehow still alive.
Weird little character dynamic he had with Vader, too; not that great, but serviceable for a one-shot Infinities thing.
(Looks a bit like the author's later depiction of the Beastman Viral, too.)

Farewell, vengeful Tusken man. This story may well have been more interesting were it about you, instead.
Really, that's how most of the Tokyopop SW manga stuff goes, better for the art than the story (like this one, whose conclusion proceeds as expected.)
(Amusingly, Sinichi also did character design for Pokemon Colosseum... which isn't as hard to see in this as you'd think.)

Tusken: You Play DDR?
Vader: Do I play DDR, he asks me. BRING IT ON!
And thus, did the most epic dance off in the history of the SW Galaxy begin.
