Namora #1 (One-Shot)

After running into a Kraken that guards a small town, Namora tries to convince the townspeople to move to a safer location. They say that they are unable to leave as there is a nearby area that heals them from their weaknesses. If they leave the area, their weakness returns. She decides to investigate the area.



She goes on to tell Namorita what has happened since they last met and a bit about her friends in the Agents of Atlas.




Wow, that is a really stern looking Venus. Namora goes on to discover what's causing the trouble and kick its ass (of course). It's a good issue. Not a lot happens, but it offers a closer look at Namora and what kind of person she is.

I also really like the art here. I feel that it really suits this type of story.

A reality warping Big Bad Sphinx ran into a time snarl and ran into his younger self, younger self tried to kill old self to get two sources of ULTIMATE POWER. Old Sphinx summoned heroes from various points in the time stream (including Nova, and Namorita) who have defeated him to defeat young Sphinx. Young Sphinx summoned various gem powered beings (like Darkhawk, Moonstone etc).

They battle, old Sphinx literally eats young Sphinx, reality breaks. As the paradox collapses Rich grab's Rita as he gets snapped back to his proper place in time and he drags younger non blue Namorita to the present day.

So she's alive, also a walking paradox, and if Futurama has taught me anything its that a time matter duplicate is always doomed. DOOOOOOOOMED!

Well, for the record, this is one instance where all three women depicted have a REASON for being scantily dressed. Two of them are underwater-type heroines - you want to keep cloth down to a minimum underwater, if you want to be able to swim quickly - and the third is a (sorta) goddess of love.

I was just thinking that whatever artist drew that must've never seen a normal woman lying on her back. There'd have to be a lot of silicone in them to make them quite so prominent in a reclined position.

I have no idea of the artist. If it's a female, it's twice as funny.

I think the idea with how Venus is drawn is that she's supposed to be in some sort of a trance-like state, going on the theory that that's what occurs when she does her whole 'sing a song of hypnotism' dealy.
