My Parents Are DEAD! - Bruce and Dick Edition

It has to be something about the costume...

The first seven panels are a flashback to Dick's first patrol as Robin, riding around in the Batmobile with Bruce.

The last is from "now." It's the first time I can recall Dick doing a, "My Parents Are Dead."

~he completes the statement with a kiss and slowly moves to remove the final pieces of clothing~

~his emergency communicator goes off~

	Well no, the final step is to wait for someone to casually mention that they have parents, and quite like them, and then to passive aggressively make them feel awful for being so unbelievably insensitive to your own parents' corspification. Yeah, New generation Teen(or Tiny) Titan or Young Justice, I'm really looking forward to that. And, though Talia is still alive, Damian still gets the coolest in this PARENTDEAD thing. He just has to make sure everything he gets is the coolest in the world.

	I have to stick up for Dick here (big surprise) by pointing out that he's actually focusing on the death of this guy he didn't know, here. His third murder was important because it was his first on the job, even if it was also the first time he saw a dead body since his parents died in front of him. (Reply to this)

	It's interesting to imagine the final panel without its last caption. Ending simply, "…he was only the third murder victim I'd ever seen." Fans of Dick Grayson could figure out the implication. But perhaps some readers would interpret that to mean this wasn't Robin's first murder case. (Reply to this)

Sadly this reads a little too close to Starfires conversation about sex in either Outsiders or Titans, where she basically says that she and Dick had had hot steamy sex on just about every single horizontal surface in Titans Tower (hopefully excluding other members bedrooms, especially if they were still occupying it.. though that might explain some of Gar's issues about intimacy.). Aside from the fact that Dick and Kory never seemed the sort to NEED extra kinkiness, after all, she can fly and he's the worlds greatest acrobat and bendiest gymnast, it smacked of whoever was writing it trying too hard.

	Actually, Dick ought to be more bitter about his parents' death, because they were just doing their job and they were killed in front of an audience looking to enjoy the circus. This is kinda funny. I wasn't online yesterday and when I checked my emails first thing this morning, I read this DW notify and was all "Oh, my commission is up!! :D"
You must have some kind of Grayson-Sense installed that tingles when new artwork is up somewhere.

(Gosh, that image is hot... I wonder how I'm supposed to concentrate on translating my texts today.)

Oh I regularly check for new art on CAF, and the searches I use tend to be the likes of "Robin" and "Nightwing" (I'm slightly obsessive, sue me! :) ), plus Mitch's gallery is always fun to browse through so I have it bookemarked (plus I was looking at my inked "Hangman" piece. It is a terrific piece you have there, jealous of my tattered tunic commission were we? (By... ummm... whatsisname, that fella, thingie... intials are GP IIRC) :D

As for concentrating, you're on your own with that one, I'm busy ogling!

Something would be wrong with me if I weren't. ;)
The thought process went somehow like this: tattered tunic commission -> a certain NTT issue (that always seems to lurk around in the memory, waiting for exterior reasons to pop up) -> the need to have a Dick and Confessor artwork.
How it turned out was completely up to Mitch, though; I simply referred to that scene and asked for a Dick and Confessor piece. Needles to say, I'm very happy with the outcome. :)
For how many commissions of Mitch are you still waiting?

You have fun ogling, I shall look for some texts to translate that fit the mood... shouldn't be too hard considering the Romans.
