Tails of the Pet Avengers-Dogs of Summer: "Once More Into the Breach"

Hi ho, fellow Pet Avengers fans! I finally got my mitts on a copy of Tails of the Pet Avengers-The Dogs of Summer today, and I give you two and one-third pages of AWESOME a seven-page story, "Once More Into the Breach."

We open on Bucky Captain America and Thor at what appears to be a volcano, awaiting the tardy Iron Man, and chiding him for not attending the briefing. Which, had he been present for, would have told him that an old friend is back.







Thor attempts diplomacy, while Tony wades in with repulsors a'blazin'. That goes about as well as you'd expect, and Triple-F gets fed up and zaps them with bright red eye-beams. And when the glow subsides.....




"To be continued...this October." Is it October yet? *whines*

My understanding was that Medusa is queen through marriage, but a princess in her own right. As she...married her cousin, things like that.

Yeah, the Inhumans were incestuous enough to be a "proper" monarchy, but I never liked to investigate too closely as it just got... unsavoury.

"Prince/Princess" was actually a much lower rank in the Russian aristocracy than in western Europe, so she'd ironically be a much better fit for that sort of title as a distant relative of the main Romanovs.

Her relation to them's never really been explained in any detail. But if she were the great-granddaughter of a Tsar, she'd lose the right to the Grand Duchess title. There's also, of course, that marriages with non-royals were usually declared morganatic, blah blah blah, so even if she were Tsarevich Alexei's long-lost daughter, she might not have any titles.

She does, however, seem easier to get ahold of/more invested in the fate of the Frogvengers than the Inhuman royal family would be. Unless Lockjaw provided the hook-up.
