[personal profile] wcitymike posting in [community profile] scans_daily
I was reading Ultimates #1 the other day, and noticed that Lois, Clark and Jimmy make a cameo:

You know, I've probably read that volume of the Ultimates half a dozen times, and I never really noticed that.

It's the glasses. That's why they work.

They actually show up in 616 too. I know there's a list of their appearances somewhere.

I recall the Art Adams drawn X-Men Annual where Spiral and Mojo turn the X-Men into kids and the New Mutants have to become "X-Men for a day" to stop them, and Lois and Clark are very evident in an audience crowd scene there.

And in Thor, back when Simonson was writing it. It's a great scene, actually - Thor needs a secret identity, having just lost his old one, so he goes to Nick Fury to hook him up with one. The problem is that Thor in civvies is unmistakably Thor in civvies - you couldn't possibly mistake him for anyone else - so Nick has to come up with some sort of distracting detail. He comes up with a pair of glasses, which he seems satisfied with. As Thor is leaving the room, he accidentally bumps into Clark, who is evidently in the Helicarrier for some sort of press briefing. Thor apologizes and walks away, and as he does, Clark looks back thoughtfully over his shoulder at him. "Hmm," he thinks, "is that...? I could have sworn..." Beat. "Nahh."
Don't knock the glasses, man - they work.

Millar's writing it too.

Funny that Marvel have made Loeb head of their tv division.

What makes it funnier is the fact that the last gig he had concerning t.v., he was fired from.

This was pointed out in the extras at the back of the Ultimates trade, too. But no worries, it's still a cool thing to point out. =)
