I can't even really comment on this. There's no point. Joe Q and the Marvel "braintrust" only mock those who have problems with OMD and yet they can't seem to leave it alone. It's like they know they need MJ and re-visiting OMD to boost lagging sales but they're angry they have to use MJ and OMD to boost lagging sales. This explains nothing and making MJ the "villain" by making the deal means nothing because EVERYONE knows she only did because Peter wanted it. And the top super-hero in your company should not be making deals with the devil. It's very un-heroic, even if you say MJ did it. Nothing short of reversing it (even without the marriage coming back) will change that.

Hmmm, while I agree, I don't think it's neccessarily *implausible* that they end up delaying the marriage... And then one or the other simply dropping the idea. I have seen it happen with acquintances (they're all set to get married, planning and all, then something deflates the plans and it just sort of never happens)

Especially since it's a pretty stark reminder (for MJ) of precisely what being married to a superhero would entail, and even back then she WAS pretty jittery about the entire thing. (Now, partially because back then the writers wanted an out)
