The preview for Mighty Avengers #24, out next week, plus one of my favourite scenes from Incredible Herc.
This is actually the second series where Sandoval has followed Pham (the first being Incredible Herc); Sandoval's art there made me an instant fan, and I've been waiting for him to do another gig I'd be interested in buying (half of something by Loeb and Young X-Men don't count).
In an earlier thread here where we talked about Amadeus Cho, I mentioned a moment in #120 that really sold me on him as a character; this is it. Having been knocked into space after refusing to do anything in the midst of the final battle with the alien gods:

Also a great Snowbird moment there; that's one of the things I like best about this title; the writers work in character arcs even for guest characters like her that take into account recent events.
Anyway, the preview for MA #24. I was uncertain about the first arc, but it had a great final twist, and, as the first couple of pages show, it lends to plenty of plot ideas. Sandoval's art remains great.
I'm really not sure, though, that I buy that Cassie is the only one even remotely concerned about taking orders from "Wanda", the genocidal maniac who has reappeared without explanation.
Also, Sandoval drawing Herc and Cho again.
I wonder if Vision and Cassie working up to telling the rest of the group about Wanda but constantly getting interrupted will be a running gag.

Date: 2009-04-18 08:27 pm (UTC)On the shallow side, DOOM! DOOM IS PRETTY! And yay for continuity shoutouts and Loki IMMEDIATELY playing games behind Osborn's back. But why did Normie get all hesitant?

Date: 2009-04-19 04:17 am (UTC)I mean, sure, it was obvious that with an entire bunch of people more powerful than him, Osborn was eventually going to get fucked over, but I personally thought it'd take longer than four months (our-time) and only one set of stories in each book for it to begin.
