Zuko's Story, plus Korra Fanart

Firstly, 'Zuko's Story' is a comic that covers the life of Zuko from just after his father, the Fire Lord, disfigured him, right up to when he saw the beam of light that signalled Aang's reanimation.

It's a good read, with the same characterisation as the series and pretty consistantly good art through the story. Zuko and Iroh are both the designs from the movie due to it being a tie-in, but everyone else looks the same as they did in the show, plus a lot of the dialogue slots into place with the cartoon's flashbacks. For example, when Zuko and Iroh were at the Western Air temple.

I recommend it anyway, if only because it builds on Zuko's backstory some more, which is nice. Like where he got the idea for the Blue Spirit from.

Given the shots Avatar took at its own weak spots and fanbase, I can't wait to see how they mock the movie. After all, they like the fans. M. Night Shyamalan, I'm guessing not.

In the DVD commentary for Ember Island Players, they joked that Toph and Sokka's exchange of "Worst. Play. Ever." "But the special effects were decent." was going to be the average fan reaction to the movie.

... Probably didn't count on people saying that the special effects apparently sucked in the movie as well.

So...is Korra Aang's grand kid? I mean, she looks a lot like Katara, and I'm assuming Aang and her got together. In one of those pics I can even see a lil Aang.

Nah, she's just from the same part of the world as her. Katara and Aang did have at least one kid though, Tenzin, and he'll be acting as her airbending teacher in the show.

I picture him as her Alfred or Elderly Bruce to her Bruce Wayne/Terry McGinnis.

I love Avatar fandom ♥ And I can't wait for it to come out. Mike and Bryan hinted at characters from ATLA appearing in ATLOK. I was rolling around in glee when I read that.

Ooh. Hmm. I do want to see this story, even if I don't like movie!designs. Is this an in-stores comic, or...

Poor Zuko. I read an analysis once on Shakesville, saying that Zuko he's an abused child who desperately wants the love of his abuser, and in time he comes to realize that his father was cruel, that the abuse was not deserved, that he doesn't need his father's approval. It seems to hold up.

That page where he's so incredulously joyful at the thought that his father, who just burned him, is at the door... poor kid.

Also, ToK will be so awesome. Booter-Freak's made something too.
