A total of four pages from Blue Beetle III #7. I'd always known Jaime had a cool family, but this is where I really, seriously started wanting to be a Reyes.

So it's been a wild and woolly six issues previous to this for Jaime. He crash-landed naked in the desert only to be immediately attacked by Guy Gardner. His memory was scrambled, as seen in flashbacks to finding the scarab. He had to find clothes and dodge some shady characters called the Posse. He finally made it home in issue #3 only to discover that it's...One. Year. Later. dun dun dun His parents think he's on drugs, and when he armors up as proof of his wild story, Milagro flees screaming and Mom rejects him outright.

By #7, though, things have quieted down enough for the fam to go to the desert on a memory-jogging expedition.

So Jaime sums up his landing in the crater, where the sand has turned to glass.

Short interlude here for Peacekeeper to arrive out of nowhere (Brenda: "He snuck up on us on a motorcycle?!).

Jaime takes them in pastel flashbacks through his part in the events of Infinite Crisis, battling OMACs and the Brother Eye satellite, until finally, crisis over, he vanishes right before the JLA'ers' eyes. We get to see it through Jaime's eyes this time, though, shouting at the scarab that the Lanterns aren't a threat, they're their ride home from outer space.

And that, my friends, is when I realized that the combined awesomeness of the Reyes clan plus honoraries could stand up to anything.

glad to see some Beetle stuff.

But looking at the art I have to ask. Did anyone but me have a hard time pinning down just what age they wanted Milagro to be?

Yes. Especially when they started switching artists around in the first year. Call it the Lian Harper Problem, maybe?

I'll be stunned if we don't see a helping of Jaime's Beetle.

I already posted a tribute post to the End Game arc. I wonder if I reposted it would that be appropriate as a Perferct Moment.

Depends if it's a "moment" or not I suspect.

I think the ethos of the week is "short and sweet", in the original version we tried to limit it to two or three pages tops, less if possible.

Otherwise it's a normal post really isn't it?

We did last OPM Week, IIRC, and we still didn't hit them all. :D

I'm thinking she's supposed to be around 8 or 9? Still a little kid, but definitely not a toddler or anything.
