One Perfect Moment: of Yorick/355 amusement

Last year for this theme I posted the airplane peanuts/"you need to meet more women..." scene from ...err.. somewhere near the end of Y: The Last Man


This year, another fun moment! (well for me at least) in the Yorick/355 interaction.
Many of their conversations in general qualify as "perfect moment", but this one is #2 on the fav list!









pssssh, 'Rick clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. There are clearly worst Beatles songs. From the White Album alone for that matter


next year: the scene in that last issue that makes everyone cry like a bitch! (great scene tho. Read the series just for that if nothing else)

They are so OTP it hurts to look at them.

That scene is a tear-jerker. But 355/Yorick will be be together someday.

The OTP for this book was clearly Yorrick and Ampersand. ;)

I generally assume that people who complain about Yoko breaking up The Beatles don't know what they're talking about.

I'm not too crazy about people who defend Yoko by saying they like John's songs, either. Though he did credit her for the title and I'm guessing that all of this is tied into some characterization that I'm not aware of since I haven't read the book.

Still, I would have been much more impressed if she had named "What A Bastard The World Is" or "I Felt Like Smashing My Face Through A Plate Glass Window." (Love the first one, can't even remember how the second one goes, but it'd still be a great title to drop)

yeah... The Beatles had about 99 other issues for breaking up, but I can still dislike Yoko tons for liquefying Lennon's brain! (or what was left of it?)

I think that was mainly the drugs. Then again, she went down a few IQ points during the 70s. Maybe they just did everything together, including become stupid. Or maybe it's just something that happens. I mean, neither of them had anything to do with Wings At The Speed of Sound, and that's some heavy duty liquification right there. And I say that as someone who likes "Silly Love Songs."

Seriously. It's great.

But, aww, this scene makes me sad.

Nowhere near as sad as the final scene, though. I mean, who'd think one man and his goddamn monkey could bring tears to your eyes?

it takes the ol' SciFi cliche of "last man on Earth", takes it a step further by making it "everything w/ a Y-chromosome is dead. We mean EVERYTHING!" and makes it one amazing story from there

Read it, its great! (and its currently gettin rereleased in big awesome hardcovers!)

In short, this series is FUCKING AWESOME.

Long version: in the course of this series, our hero runs into monkeys, ninjas, pirates, robots AND spies - all in a world without men. And if you don't want to read that, well, I just don't know what to tell you.
