This is from Amazing Spider-Man Presents: American Son #3 by Brian Reed and Philippe Briones.

Things get a little confusing, as it's revealed that Gabriel is the American Son, and that he has multiple personality dissociative identity disorder.

American Son tries to "rescue" Norah Winters, taking her to his lair. Then Gabriel resurfaces and ties her up, angry at her for the article she wrote about him.

American Son tells Gabriel that his alert system has notified the authorities of their whereabouts.

Spider-Man punches Gabriel, knocking the American Son helmet off his head and breaking. Gabriel says that this has killed American Son.

I don't think Negative was the first one to have the whole "Alternate villainous personality" thing (and if anything this is a reversal, since the alternate personality is the one that's heroic).

I know there've been a lot of those in comics, but I only mention it because Negative was introduced recently, and in the same book.
