I found this on the Internet.

Ugh....really Todd, REALLY? I mean, I know you don't have the next great Indie talky book in you, but did you have to retread a Spidey shot?

...I can TRY to do that move with my hand in front of me, but certainly not behind my back. Add dislocation to this poor man's maladies.

So, is the green goo coming out the top of his fingers, or the bottom?

Oh! Now I get it. That green goo isn't coming out of his left hand, but from behind him. He actually has a god like case of projectile diarrhea.

I am shocked and amazed that Spawnderman didn't become a household name.

This would hurt if I actually cared.

That's it, Todd. Make me not care. Of course that way I won't buy either, so....

It took me five looks to realize that was a leg.
And then you had to point out the hand. Now the mind fuck won't go away.

Yes, his design is totally Spawnderman. And yes, he does appear to be spooge-powered. In those respects, this ad is totally representative.

What the ad doesn't tell you is that, beyond maybe the basic idea, McFarlane doesn't actually do anything on this book. It's written by Robert Kirkman. Y'know, The Walking Dead / Invincible Kirkman.

It's not great - it's a bit of a guilty pleasure - but I'm really enjoying it.

You've two brothers, Kurt and Daniel Kilgore. Daniel's a priest, and Kurt's a secret agent, Al Simmons-style. (Yup, Spawnderman.) Daniel's rather disaffected with his role in life, and Kurt's dead.

Kurt's haunting Daniel. Kurt can out-and-out possess Daniel, causing him to manifest Spawn's necroplasm suit that outfit of goop. Daniel's getting sucked into all the weird spy stuff Kurt was involved with, and has to depend on Kurt's know-how to get him through it all alive.

I keep getting to the new Haunt in my stack, and thinking "Why am I reading this again?" And then reading it, and thinking "Oh yeah; I'm having fun with this."
