Wow, that was pretty good. There were some bits of dialogue there that I don't think were in the original.

I'd heard about the comic for years, and was so thrilled to finally see it (in whatever form.) I'd love to see the original!

If you're familiar with Garth Ennis' work, and in particular the comics where he really hates on superheroes (such as The Boys or parts of Hitman), you'll already be familiar with a lot of this comic: superheroes are stupid and/or perverts and/or don't deal with real-world stuff, like 9/11. (There's a terrorist attack on the Empire State Building where basically everyone but The Pro carries the idiot ball.) But there's also some nice bits, and it's really funny in a dirty way, so yeah, it's well-worth picking up.

In what particular way? They have an argument, she storms out, he chases after her, they have make-up sex, just a little more cosmically than most.

I dunno, the fact that he's forcing the issue kinda has this unsettling overtone when I look at it.

Given that she has full blown Kryptonian level powers of her own makes that less of an issue in my mind.

Maybe it's just me, then. I'm still getting the "male forcing himself on unwilling woman, woman likes it" trope off of it. But again, I could be totally wrong.

To be fair, the entire issue has a creepy undertone. It's clear that neither Jor-El nor Lara is well-adjusted to their new home. They aren't evil, but they could be better.

That's the point, though. Unlike Clark, they adult Kryptonians who are relocating. Their powers and experience make it so that they can't help but shape their new environment. Probably the difference between Clark and Kara should DC have ever wanted to go there. This is what I'd hoped to see somewhat with the enlarging of Kandor, but that whole thing was utter fail.

She caused some serious property damage when she yelled "Alone!" Who's paying for that? Do they get sued? Is there a police investigation as to why they just broke every window in at least one building? Not to mention hearing damage for any normal human who happens to be near.
