The awesome and unique Australian master cartoonist Brendan McCarthy, still going as Ditko as you can without getting sued, with a lot of Yellow Submarine and Timothy Leary thrown in for very good measure. This was FUN. And, yes, even more so if you're stoned.

Whoa, nelly! You're right - that thing Dr. Strange is riding is totally the Yellow Submarine in boat form. I want one.
Also, I love the 'Harrah-Harrah backwards' thing, 'you're getting all Silver Surfer on me, Doc', the Lee/Ditko cameo in the last page, and, well, basically most of this. I'm impressed with McCarthy's artwork, all right, but Steve Cook did a pretty good job of writing the thing as well - this wouldn't be half as enjoyably insane without all the weird 'Harrah Harrah' stuff and the weird twists to Spidey's origin.

All true, except that Cook assisted with the color and lettering: Brendan wrote & drew it.

Oh. OK, my bad - I just saw the two names on the cover, and, knowing that McCarthy was the artist, assumed Cook was the writer.
