scans_dailyWhen it came to choosing a favourite friendship I thought this would be harder that it actually was. There are so many beautiful friendships in the comics I read: the Birds; Tim and Kon; Steph and Cass; Bruce and Clark; Dick and Tim; Steve and Tony; The Young Avengers... but when it came to me it was really kind of obvious what my favourite friendships is right now.
Helena Bertinelli and Renee Montoya. In comparison to the others I've listed it's a fairly new friendship, but it's already had it fair share of ups and downs and it's obvious they care about each other a lot; I for one am very excited to see where their friendship will go.
Why do I love their friendship so much? Here are a few moments which show the two playing off each other.

Of course they knew. Because they are just that damn awesome.
The way they play off each other here is brilliant. The dynamic between them is something that Helena doesn't have very much of, even with the Birds. Dinah is like a big sister while her relationship with Babs has always been a little bit strained and at the best of times is never this easy going... perhaps the closest she comes to a friendship like this in the Birds is with Zinda.
Of course, like all member of the Batfamily, Hel shows her love in, shall we say, unconventional ways...
Yeeeeeeah. Them's my girls in all their beautiful Cully Hamner illustrated, Greg Rucka written awesomeness. I hope that when this story line is resolved (it's implied that Renee comes out of it with the Mark of Cain flaming on her face) that whoever writes it decides to make it another Helena-Renee centric story because the two of them work so well together. I'd hate to see their friendship fall by the wayside now that Rucka is no longer at DC.
