Starting way back in Frank Miller's Year One, they were brought back together in the semi-reboot of the title by Darwyn Cooke and Ed Brubaker, and their matured as it went on and both characters got a lot out of it.

Is Holly still in limbo or is anyone doing anything with her?

She's in limbo, retired from superheroery and living off a sizeable chunk of Hush's money that Selina and co. stole for him cutting her heart out, so at least she's somewhere nice probably. :)

Like Jack Knight, he retired to San Francisco to raise his kids with his girlfriend and become a full time artist.

Be nice to see Selina and Harley reminisce about Holly in the pages of Gotham City Sirens. Though Pam might be just a wee bit jealous if she finds out Harley and Holly lived together for a time.

Who was she looking for?

Holly's long lost brother, which Holly didn't know until the end of the storyline. As far as she knew Selina was just taking her on a tour of the US rather than anywhere specific. :)
