I know I've used the term more than once, and given she's talking about something which her husband takes so seriously, a responsibility (which are often described as burdens or weights), it seems perfectly reasonable to me.

I use a lot of pretty archaic phrases, largely growing up in a rural area where a lot of the neighbors grew up near the turn of the last section.

Being in a house full of voracious readers doesn't help either.

Same here, although I grew up on the south side of Chicago, but otherwise it was a different time then and almost felt rural, for a city. The reading thing is a common thread though. We had a whole wall in the basement that was a bookshelf, from floor to ceiling.

And I read every single one of those books before I hit 9 too.

One has to wonder if Dick approached Wally to be the JLA speedster first? Or would that mean acknowledging his existence which DC currently seems loathe to do.

In general I think it's because he's not Barry who is apparently the greatest Flash EVER... despite the fact they apparently HAD to completely bork his history in order to retcon in angst and conflict where there hadn't been any before because otherwise they might realise what a quintessentially DULL personality he had (And I say that as someone who grew up reading Barry's Flash; great hero, boring guy.)

Wally's probably going to be a big player in the Speed Force book, and the last thing Robinson probably wants is ANOTHER character moved to a place where he can't use him anymore.

That's the Speed Force book that's been delayed a few times, and absorbed the planned Kid Flash book? Still say that that should have had flashback Barry stories, if anyone felt they had any to tell because Barry's return seems to have been almost the textbook example of pointlessness.

I don't remember how it was delayed--they were originally going to have a Wally back-up in Flash, and a solo Kid Flash book, then Flash: Rebirth got really late and hype for Barry's return diminished. DC decides to put those stories to the side, give Barry a year in the spotlight, and then they'll start this Speed Force book, probably to help hype up Flashpoint.

Honestly, no clue. From the image it looks like she's going to have to go up against Eclipso, who isn't even in the book.

The other "mission accomplished" I've seen, in BD #7 I think, was pretty obvious. This one is much more vague.

I'm probably reading it wrong, but I read it as Mission Accomplished, then Life Restored - almost like she got a reward for finishing the mission and/or earned the right to stay alive.

Apparently, Jade's job was just getting Obsidian out of the Starheart--which will then allow him to deal with Eclipso at some future point when his powers are really needed.

Three things:

I love that Jesse is back to being "Jesse Quick" instead of Liberty Belle. She'll always be a speedster to me.

I love Mark Bagley's art. It's "classic" superhero style, looks good, and isn't constantly pretending it's a Hollywood movie.

Seems Robinson is back to being a decent-good writer after the Gay for Justice debacle.

Still hating Jesse's new look. Loved the retro Liberty Belle. It's weird to see Hourman without her. They were sickeningly cute as an inseparable couple.
