This comes from Daredevil v2 #47, by Bendis and Maleev. Kingpin's at a bar, he's confronted by some FBI agents.

That Norman monologue never, ever, ever gets old. Man, I'd love to do that as a performance piece, if I could find an audience who would understand what the hell I'm doing.

Honestly the next actor who tries out for Norman should have to perform that scene to get the job.

Norman may get played out a lot of the time, but god damn is he such a good villain. He's so scary because while Joker is just a fucking nutball who will straight up murder you Goblin is both absolutely insane AND incredibly smart. He will find you and take you down with smarts, then he will murder the shit out of you in crazy mode.

What I like about Kingpin is the fact that for a big guy, he can really throwdown and even trade blows with someone who at least has the strength level of Spider-Man. He's not just a mastermind, but if he has to get down and dirty, he will. Plus I'm a big guy myself so I tend to be drawn to characters who are big themselves and do awesome things.

The Kingpin has said he's necessary before. The only reason the Punisher never shot the Kingpin was because a massive gang war would start to divvy up his empire, most likely killing innocent people. Basically, the Kingpin was the Big White Wall between organized crime and criminal anarchy for most of the east coast.
