I have a feeling we're going to get a lot of Timmverse.

And why not? It's nostalgic, and a lot of people I've talked to said it's what got them into comics in the first place. Myself included.

When I was a wee little lass, I was obsessed with Batman: The Animated Series (my choice for the day). Batman was the coolest, Robin and Batgirl even more so. ...This also made me terrified of Mr. Freeze. :|

RUNNERS UP (Aka, tied with this, really):
Batman Beyond
Justice League Unlimited
SUperman the Animated Series

*SPECIAL NOTE* I want to mention the 90's X-men show, too. I don't care how bad people say it was, I LOVED IT.

Here, have a scan for legality:

AW YEAH. TITANS.

I'm going to say something OUTRAGEOUS, and suggest there should be some mention of Batman: Brave and the Bold.

(Cartoon Network claims that the SIege of Starro two parter and Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster are going to be aired Sept 17-Oct 1. There's also apparently going to be a B:BatB/Scooby Doo crossover episode at some point.)

There absolutely should be a mention made of the B&tB cartoon, which is as magnificent in it's own way as BTAS and it's progeny.

When I too was a wee young lass in junior high I lived within walking distance to school, and I remember after the last bell rang at 3:10 I'd SPRINT HOME AT WARP SPEED to catch the second half of Batman TAS and then Spider-Man at 3:30. TWEENY GEEKJOY!

Later I figured out how to set the VCR timer and didn't get nearly as much daily exercise. :(

While I love the Timmverse I can't say I love it as much as Spectacular Spider-man.

But that's probably because I'm a Marvel Zombie :p

BTAS always. I suspect that it influenced my current obsession with airships, Art Deco, and German Expressionism.

When it first aired, I really liked XTAS, but it definitely doesn't hold up so well, imo. The theme song is still awesome in that 90s-y way, though.

I am fond of Batman Beyond, Spectacular Spider-man (noooo it's in my head again), and JLU. And I'm a big fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

I apparently didn't give Spectacular enough of a chance. I so love the people who are adept with ... uh, quippage. It occurs to me that no crossovers should ever be allowed between The Spider and The Spoiler - the snark implosion would take out at least half a dozen universes.

From the begining, to the ending. From Batman: The Animated Series to JLU. With stops along the way for Superman, Batman Beyond, Static Shock (even if the first season was blatently not part of the shared universe), and even the Zeta Project.

It was beautiful. There was something magic at Warner Brothers in the early 90s, when they let the animators make Animaiacs (and related media) and the DCAU. The shows were intelligent, they were lovingly crafted, they were good, plain and simple.

...Or that would be what I would say if I ever read the comic. :/

Batman: The Brave and the Bold! Spectacular Spider-man! X-men: Evolution! Also: Teen Titans, JLU, BTAS -- I uh, I like cartoons.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is my favorite video game, and I like the Nolan films.

The first Iron Man film is a good one too.

Hmmm... probably a tossup between Timmverse (I especially liked Batman Beyond though), Spectacular Spider-Man, and the second half or so of X-Men Evolution.

And here's hoping that in another two months, The Walking Dead makes my shortlist.

Batman Beyond was also transformative, specifically episodes 7 and 8 from Season 1, the first versus Shriek and the second versus the Royal Flush Gang. The silence when Shriek temporarily blows out Batman's ears made for a chilling fight. And the images of the Gang riding the cards made me love Batman Beyond.

Of course, Batman:Animated had its high points. Can anyone say Grey Ghost?

ANIMATION

-Batman: The Animated Series

- Justice League Unlimited; Best version of Superman, John Stewart, Shaeyra Hal and Vixen that I've ever seen.

-Static Shock

- Teen Titans: After being spoiled Perlman!Slade , comic book Slade was a big dissapointment to me. Also I *love* this shows versions of Robin, Raven and Starfire moreso than the comics.

- The Batman: The show may not have been perfect and there are aspects to dislike but there were good points about it that gets glossed over and one day I'm going to write a post on stuff I liked about the series.

MOVIES

What can I say, I do not like the Nolan verse and the best superhero movie for me will always be:

:drum roll:

IRON MAN!

Now, that movie, *that* was a SUPERHERO movie. No bullshit, not grit, no over-emoness, just pure unadulterated super hero stuff that gets to the heart of what heroes and comics are all about.

Boos at Chris Nolan.

I'll go for a seemingly obscure title and vote for the video game Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. It's a free-roaming Hulk game that really gets across the power of the character - it's hard not to break stuff. It uses Paul Jenkins' Ryker and Devil Hulk storylines, but in a way that's much more satisfying than it was in the comics. It's got a ton of mini-games, and in terms of fun it's one of the best games I've ever played.

Unfortunately, it was sandwiched between two bad movie spin-offs and didn't get the attention it deserved. Even more unfortunately, the storyline was thrown into the comics in a very bad mini-series by Peter David that butchered character and continuity in a way that is unusual for him.

B:TAS is not only my favorite "other media," but something I consider to be one of--maybe THE--best Western-made cartoons of all time. It was moody and atmospheric, and it could be incredibly dark at times. But sometimes it could be lighthearted and sweet or even pretty hilarious. The art style was great. And let's not forget everyone's favorite psycho-chick Harley originated in the Timmverse.

B:TAS Batman is THE Batman in my mind. Same with the Joker. There are other Batmans (Batmen?) who are pretty damn great, but none quite compare to B:TAS Batman. To me, anyway.

P.S. I also fucking love Batman: The Brave and the Bold because it revitalizes old characters (srsly, how cool is Aquaman in this show?) and gives some press to the more obscure ones (like Kamandi or Wildcat or, yes, the Phantom Stranger).

P.P.S. Although I normally don't much like Tony, I absolutely ADORED the Iron Man movies.

I'll be all edgy here and say TT animated. It might not be as good as BTAS, but it's what got me into comics in the first place, and showed me superheroes could be awesome and that cool girl heros exist. I still prefer it to the majority of Teen Titans comics (peeerrhaps all of them). Show!Raven, Starfire, Slade and Beast Boy are far more appealing than the comic counterparts the majority of the time. Especially Show!Raven. She pwns.

Also, like the Iron Man movies far more than any comix Iron man.
