Having read the teasers (http://comics.ign.com/articles/974/974027p1.html), it makes me wonder if Neil Gaiman's version of Death is gonna cameo in this event at all. Hopefully in a non-ridiculous capacity.

That would be awsome. but i heard DC dont want to mix the vertigo characters at all with DC,for some reason.

it will confuse the fans and the continuity problems would make peoples heads EXPLODE!!

Well, Dream 2.0 DID show up in one of the recent Crisis...

Dream showed up in cameo in Green Arrow: Quiver. It was actually pretty cool and plot relevant.

Personally I hope nothing Vertigo gets involved with this. There's a good reason why. Because Vertigo was largely good and the current DC is largely excrement.

:P

Speak for yourself. GL, Superman, WW, Trinity... they've all been consistently awesome.

Well, Dream showed up in JLA that one time versus Starro.

He ended up putting Starro in an aquarium in the dreaming.

If there's a major DC writer who hasn't bothered to read Sandman, Geoff Johns would be it. Although really, a part of me is still holding out hope that this will end in a zombie-catching game like At Death's Door.

Of course she can show up! But she'll be on skis.

And somehow...it would be even more awesome than it sounds.

I'd really love to see her cameo. I really would.

And Geoff Johns approved, apparently. (See the comments.)

I told this guy at work that, but he's one of the "ZOMG COMICS IS TOTALLY SERIOUS SERIOUS BUSINESS GUYS" types.

"Man, wouldn't it be great if Death showed up and started fucking shit up?"

And then he started ranting about how Gaiman!Death does not fuck things up and about how I "missed the point of fandom."

OMGWTF.

I know, has he seen comics fandom? The constant "who would win in a fight" shit drives me up the wall when it actually leaks into canon, but it's kind of a big part of the fandom.

Apparently, there's a point and a purpose to fandom, and it's all srs bizness.

I certainly did not know this, and was in it for the lulz.

(Though Who Would Win is one of my favorite games. When I worked on the trail-building crew, that was one of my favorite ways to pass time. Especially with the crazy fights like "Magellan vs Pizarro in a fistfight" or "Dante vs Milton, steel cage match.")

I think he's missing a lot of points! If anything, "fandom" has become so serious that I hesitate to call myself a fan of anything sometimes. And yet I'm still fanboy enough to complain when the powers that be frag things up. Death threats are out, though.

I'm sure Death has a policy for zombies. After all, this can't be the first instance of zombies in the DCU.

I'm sure she barely cares.

After the hissy-fit he threw last time Death was involved in a non-Vertigo title I'd rather she not appear at all.

That's because the story made Death of the Endless equal to the Black Racer and Nekron. Gaiman doesn't care as long as you use her "correctly".

She's made cameo appearances since that I haven't heard him complain about. Admittedly, the most prominent was for tasteful mood/background shots in LSH when the earth was destroyed...
