If these are real it was clearly part of Disney's farsighted attempt to cash in on the serial killer concept 40 years early.

"The Psychotic Adventures of Duckface" has a nice ring to it...

Did he try to kill anyone else, or was it just Goofy he harbored murderous feelings for?

Well, there was the FOURTH nephew, Phooey.... When was the last time you saw HIM?

(Actually Phooey was the name given to the notional fourth nephew who sometimes appeared due to artist error. When drawing three identical characters who usually appeared as a crowd it was sometimes inevitable that a spare arm or leg would appear, or (s)he'd forget that one of them was on the other side of the room. I've also seen this character referred to as "Barks" in honour of Carl Barks)

Ahhh, classic Disney comedy. Except for the "classic" part. And the "comedy" part. And, really, since it was an anonymous staff artist, the "Disney" part.

Actually, the artist is fairly well-known... his name was Al Taliaferro, and he was the one who drew the Donald Duck newspaper comics for nearly thirty years, creating characters such as Huey Dewey and Loie, Grandma Duck and Gus Goose.

*is a Disney comics nut*

If this Donald were in Kingdom Hearts, it would be called God of War.

Now that's the kind of humor that warms my heart. I haven't laughed this hard at a strip in a long time. Where have these been collected?

As much as the company would probably like you to forget it, the Disney characters could certainly be every bit as anarchic as their Warner Brothers counterparts. These particular scenes reminded me of the Goofy "football" short, where one of the Goofys keeps surreptitiously licking a young Goofy's sucker, until finally the short ends with him being shot dead by the young Goofy, with the shot being mistaken for the shot signalling the end of the football game ...

Donald was making a service to everyone by killing Goofy.

That's why I like him so much.

As an aside, just look at how much room the artist had to work with back then! And how good the reproduction was. Newspaper comics today are sad faint echoes of what they once were.

Is it any wonder Donald's been nominated for Red Lantern-hood?

The first one seems harmless enough, if you work it from the right viewpoint. (They are cartoon characters.) The second one, however...pure evil.
