ID Crisis worked tremendously well for mebecause I had a blissfully small knowledge of everything preceding it; I barely knew there WAS an Elongated Man, or Sue Dibny. The plot might have been sub-par, the shocks taken largely from Watchmen (and Kingdom Come - specifically the death of Firestorm), but the character building was excellent and the art-script relationship phenomenal. See also: the 'I've got you' page following Jack Drake's death.

So, yes, I liked it. Because I did not know or care about anything preceding or succeeding it. Nor do I now.
